Panch Phoran



A mix of five whole spices, usually in equal quantities by volume:

  1. Jeera (Cumin), 
  2. Rai/Sarson (Mustard seeds), 
  3. Saunf (Fennel), 
  4. Methi (Fenugreek seeds),  and 
  5. Kalonji (Nigella seeds)
